Perch People's Choice Award to be Announced Next Week
The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce will announce the first, second and third place winners for the Perch People's Choice Award for which entries were submitted this week during the unveiling of the artist-decorated fish.

Executive Director Jennifer Boettcher said the votes have been tallied and the winners will be announced Monday through Wednesday of next week. They will be annonced in reverse order, meaning the third place winner will be announced on Monday, second on Tuesday and third on Wednesday, Boettcher said.

In addition to the winners being announced, the 51 Perch will be moved from the next Tuesday, July 17, to their street location within the Grosse Pointes.
There are two that will be featured in St. Clair Shores and then the remainder will be in the five Grosse Pointes, with the heaviest concentration along Mack and Kercheval avenues.

Eventually the fish will be auctioned off at a benefit party at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club in October . In the meantime, they'll remain on the streets with the hope of drawing people to the community to visit all of the fish and the businesses.
