Stroke Leads Grosse Pointe Couple to Open e-Bay Business
Jeffrey and Romina Profeta opened SoulyYou in 2012.
After suffering a large stroke, Jeffrey Profeta and his wife Romina wanted to earn some money for the family without adding a lot of extra stress.
They created SoulyYou, an e-Bay store selling discounted designer clothes.

What does your business offer?

We offer designer clothing at discounted prices. Sometimes at half the amount you would pay in the outlet stores.
What's your most popular product or service?
Our most popular products include new with tags Polo Ralph Lauren clothing (for women, men and children), Ann Taylor LOFT and Banana Republic. We also offer gently used designer clothing on auction !
What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know?
Our company name came about when walking on the beaches of Marco Island and talking about how our life had changed the past year. We decided to name our eBay store Souly You because life is short and we wanted to offer products that would make anyone happy !! SoulyYou....Only For You !!

How did your business come to be?
The morning of February 2012 would change my life forever when I was diagnosed with a large stroke which would leave me with vision loss and subsequent seizures. My wife and I decided to begin our eBay store to earn more money for our family without added stress. We both love shopping and finding great deals and with our eBay store we can transfer those deals to our patrons.
Why did you choose the area you did?
As a fourth generation Grosse Pointe Woods residence, it made sense that this would be where we run our business. My great grandfather helped to move our family church from Detroit to Grosse Pointe Farms. As the owner of a roofing and sheet metal business, he put the roof and gutters on the new church. As a child, I could not have been more proud going to church every Sunday knowing that he helped build the structure people would worship in.
