Village Toy Closes, El's Boutique to Expand

Although the Village Toy Company has closed, the popular El's boutique which was a department in the store, will be expanding in the Village shopping district.

After 25 years of being the destination in the Village for toys, stuffed animals and unique gifrts, the Village Toy Company recently closed.

During that time the store kept up with the latest trends and added El's, which was a department for "colorful and trendy gifts and accessories for tween and teenage girls," according to a post on the toy store Facebook page.

Following the retirement of Village Toy Company founder Nancy Renick in July, changes are coming to the shopping district.

On Sept. 6, the El's boutique concept will be expanded into a full store and move one storefront south to 17110 Kercheval.

Ellen Durand states she will feature "the latest in fashion accessories and room décor to comfy, casual wear and just-right gifts for every BFF," according to a Facebook post.

El’s will be moving into the Village Palm space and Village Palm is moving into the former Village Toys space, according to Ed Nakfoor, who handles marketing and public relations for the Village.
