Founded in downtown Franklin in 1983, Bead Works has been a jewelry trend-making hotspot where crafters and jewelry enthusiasts would spend hours at a time working with the store’s staff to design wearable beaded art. For those who needed broken pieces repaired, ranging from family heirlooms to contemporary designs, the Bead Works staff artfully re-crafted and repaired thousands of pieces during its 31 years in business. The store specialized in premium beads, accessories, tools, hard-to-find beading components, antique and one-of-a-kind bead findings and pendants, and also provided jewelry-making classes and a wide selection of custom-made jewelry and gifts.

“I would love to find someone to purchase Bead Works and keep the store open. Our customers have become our extended family.  They have come to us to purchase beads components and custom-made jewelry and for help designing pieces to commemorate their celebrations and lifecycles,” said Bead Works owner Nomi Joyrich.

Bead Works was founded in 1983 by Joyrich’s mother, Ida Joyrich and a friend of hers who passed away from breast cancer. A dozen years ago, Nomi Joyrich moved back to Michigan from Seattle to take over the business, raise her family and live closer to relatives. Kathy Mamat, Bead Works’ manager, has been helping store customers for 24 years.

Bead Works is located in the heart of the Village of Franklin at 32751 Franklin Road. Bead Works phone number, 248-855-5230, will remain operational after the physical store has closed to continue to assist customers with jewelry repairs, custom-designed jewelry, home parties and jewelry-making lessons.
