The long weekend is almost here, find something to do day or night. 


Where/When: Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, through May 28.
Why Go: Hear Filipino native Charmaine Clamor bring her sultry jazz sound to Dirty Dog this weekend.
Pricing: $15-$30 cover for 6 and 8:30 p.m. shows through May 28, with reservations required, and 10:30 p.m. May 27-28 with open seating, no cover.


Where/When:; 7 p.m. May 26.
Why Go: Enjoy a free outdoor concert, brought to you by the talented teens at Grosse Pointe North and South high schools.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: The Neighborhood Club; noon-3 p.m. May 28.
Why Go: Bring home a new best friend by visiting the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society's twice-monthly animal adoption events at The Neighborhood Club. Meet cats and dogs in need of a good home and discover more about these animals from the fosters who have been caring about the critters.
Pricing: Adoption fees vary. All animals are current on vaccines and have been neutered/spayed.

Why Go: Enjoy an evening of soulful pop as Frankie D'Angelo brings his songs and songwriting skills to Robusto's.

Why Go: Hear hometown blues legend Thornetta Davis bring her soulful sound to the masses at Dylan's this holiday weekend.

Where/When: Circle of Honor, Vernier and Mack; 10 a.m. May 30.
Why Go: Honor those who served and sacrificed at this community-wide ceremony organized by the Grosse Pointe Woods Historical Commission. Lt. Col. Rolf Mammen of the Air National Guard is the keynote speaker, and the Gentlemen of Swing will perform music.
Pricing: Free and open to the public.

Why Go: Grosse Pointe War Memorial is holding a special Memorial Day service to honor those who served and sacrificed.
Pricing: Free and open to the public.
