Music makes your weekend go 'round, with roots rock, classic covers and classical compositions, plus a helping of jazz and tango for dessert.

Why Go: Hear Clarinet prodigy Dave Bennett bring the songs of Benny Goodman to life.

Where/When: Christ Church Grosse Pointe; Friday, April 22, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Christ Church Grosse Pointe’s concert series features uplifting classical and sacred music. Today's concert is "Ein Deutsches Requiem," a poignant work by Johannes Brahms, presented by Christ Church Chorale, soloists and orchestra.
Pricing: Freewill donations accepted.

Where/When: Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200 Woodward, Detroit; Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
Why Go: Friday hours are extended at the DIA, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and everyone can enjoy something, from drawing in the galleries (from 6-9 p.m.) for both children and adults; a scroll-making workshop for youngsters; and 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. performances by The Oblivion Project, called "the foremost Tango band in the Midwest."
Pricing: Free for members; otherwise, $8 adults, $6 seniors, $5 college students, $4 youths 6-17.
