Junior League of Detroit Hosts 'Festival of Wreaths'

Start the holiday season with 'Festival of Wreaths' Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

 

GROSSE POINTE – The Junior League of Detroit, Inc. (JLD) will be hosting the third annual Festival of Wreaths on Saturday, November 17 at the Alger House of the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, 32 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.  The event runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and will feature designer wreaths on display and for sale along with many family friendly activities, and a cocktail party and wreath auction that evening from 6:30 – 9 p...  Admission to the Festival is $5 per person and payable at the door; advance tickets are not needed.  Some activities will require an additional charge.  All proceeds from the Festival of Wreaths will support the Junior League’s Centennial Celebration Scholarship Program.

The Festival of Wreaths offers a great start to the holiday season, with designer wreaths donated by local artists and businesses, including Village Toy Company, Village Palm, Viviano Florist, The League Shop, Detroit Tube Products and more. Fresh wreaths from Allemon’s Landscape Center along with opulent bows, ornaments and cards round out the holiday décor for purchase. There will be fun activities for all ages, including children’s crafts, cookie decorating, story time, and a chance to visit live reindeer in the Candy Cane Corral outside.

The designer wreaths will be available for purchase during the day at a “Buy it Now” price, or shoppers can take their chances in a silent auction at the Cocktail Party and Auction the same evening from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Guests will enjoy cocktails and light appetizers while placing their bids on the wreaths as well as a few beautiful pieces of jewelry, compliments of George Koueiter & Sons and Edmund T. Ahee Jewelers.  Ryan Ermanni, WJBK-TV 2 sports reporter, will be the emcee for the evening.  Tickets are $45 per person and reservations are limited. Tickets are available at jldetroit.org or by calling 313/881-0040.
