Auditions for "Little Women" at Grosse Pointe Theatre

Performance Date: Monday, November 11, 2013

Synopsis: Based on the beloved semi-autobiographical novel by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. Jo, the spirited and ambitious leader of the March sisters, aspires to become a world-famous writer. The show follows her trials and tribulations as she embarks on this journey – all while keeping her sisters close and remaining true to herself. The story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Little Women has a beautiful score, likeable characters, and a charming story. A musical about family, dreams, love, loss, and triumph, Little Women is heart-warming story that touches all audiences.

This production is a cut-down version of the show for workshop purposes. Some songs, scenes, and characters have been omitted. Participation will not conflict with main stage shows (Gypsy, 84 Charing Cross Road and White Christmas)

Professor Fritz Bhaer (male): Mid-thirties. Bhaer is a German immigrant who is a boarder at Mrs. Kirk’s Boarding House in New York. He becomes a colleague of Jo’s and critiques her writing.
