Auditions for "White Christmas" at Grosse Pointe Theatre

Saturday, August 10 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm; Sunday, August 11 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. White Christmas auditions. Last check in by 4:00 pm., performance dates: December 14, 15, 17-22, 2013, White Christmas is based on the Paramount Pictures 1954 film. War veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former Army commander. Characters:  Bob Wallace (mid 20’s to 40’s) – A major singing/dancing star;  Phil Davis (mid 20’s to 40’s) – Bob’s fun-loving song and dance partner; Betty Haynes (mid-20’s to mid 30’s) – Sensible, responsible half of sister song-and-dance team; Judy Haynes (mid-20’s to mid 30’s) – Betty’s younger sister; wholesome, charming, flirty and adorably scheming. General Henry Waverly (non-singing role, late 50’s to early 60’s) – Retired general; curmudgeon; warm, compassionate. Martha Watson (late 40’s to mid 60’s) – Ex-Broadway star, wisecracking; big-hearted; meddler. Susan Waverly (9-12 years old) – Henry’s granddaughter;  Ralph Sheldrake (mid 30’s to early 40’s) –TV executive with Ed Sullivan Show;  Rhoda (non singing, mid 20’s to early 30’s) – chorus girl; brash, sexy, fun;  Ezekiel Foster (mid 40’s to late 50’s) – helps out at the Inn but very slowly; Mike (mid 20’s to late 30’s) –overly dramatic stage manager; There are also several ensemble roles.
