Listening to Jazz with Judy Adams

Detroit Jazz radio personality, Judy Adams will share her passion, knowledge and stories relating to her experiences with the music, its artists and recordings. The class will be very informal and you’ll gain a deeper appreciation of Jazz music as we listen and discuss the music in a friendly, social setting. This series will serve both as an introduction to Jazz for some and a supplement for the seasoned Jazz fan.

THE EARLY YEARS: Laying the Jazz Foundation 1910-1960: Gospel, Blues, Ragtime, Swing, Bebop, and more. Artists include: Scott Joplin, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, and many others.
