Grosse Pointe North High School's Environmental Organization will host a 5K April 28 beginning at 10 a.m. Proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation.
The organization, known as S.A.V.E., which stands for Students Against Violations of the Environment, is aiming to improve the awareness of environmental pollution and its impact upon individual's health.
The Foundation that will receive the proceeds promotes leukemia research in addition to an event for pediatric cancer survivors.

Registration is open to anyone. The cost is $20 for K-12 students and $30 for adults.
The race will begin at Grosse Pointe North High School and travel through the surrounding area of Grosse Pointe Woods.
