The Cross & The Light Creator at Our Lady Star of the Sea

Miss America first runner-up, created the stage play The Cross and the Light.

An atheist who embraced Christianity in the 1990s, Ms. Nieto was deeply moved by the Stations of the Cross in meditating on the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  In 2002, she created The Cross and the Light, writing the script, lyrics and songs.  The production
runs this year in Downtown Detroit at the Music Hall from Palm Sunday, March 24, through Easter Sunday, March 31.

A mother of five, Ms. Nieto will share her conversion experience and what moved her to create a play that critics have called the “Broadway version of the Passion
of Christ” because of its professionalism, original musical score and epic theatrical production.
