The USTA Midwest Division is working with tennis professional Chip Fazio to bring USTA Midwest Youth Team Tennis for kids aged 5-10 to the Pointes this summer. There will be practice and match play at the same once per week session for 6 weeks over the summer. The league will use the Quickstart format which uses kid sized equipment, balls, courts and racquets. The league is going to be run by the Grosse Pointe Community Tennis Association. The focus will be an fun, competitiveness with an emphasis on good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.

Volunteers are needed to help organize the league and to serve as coaches. No tennis experience is needed and coaches will receive free training from the USTA.

An organizational meeting will be held, Wed, Feb 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hunt Club Tennis House, 655 Cook Road , Grosse Pointe Woods. We invite all who think they may be interested in the league to come to the meeting.
