Kids for Kids is
a fund raising campaign run by kids from Grosse Pointe School System to raise
money for St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research.  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is
internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of
children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital’s
research has helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancer from less
than 20 percent when the institution opened to almost 80 percent today. It is
the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer
Center devoted solely to children, and no family ever pays St. Jude for care.  This event will be on Thursday, August 14,
2014 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Thompkins Center at 14920 Windmill Pointe
Drive, Grosse Pointe, MI, courtesy of Grosse Pointe Park, Parks and
Recreation.  The event will be a large
family, “End of the Summer Bash.”  With
various forms of entertainment such as; petting zoo, face painting, temporary
tattoos, a tech/gaming bar provided by Microsoft.  We will also be having a tin can auction with
gift baskets and much more! All proceeds will go to St. Jude’s Childhood Cancer
Hospital and matched by Microsoft.
Tickets for $30.00 may be purchased by emailing m.petrop@comcast.net.  Please join us in leaving no child without
medical care.  With your help and your
commitment, we will save many children’s lives!
