Community Corner

Ride the Polar Express

Woods children, parents and their guests are invited to reserve their seats for this exclusive holiday trip. Passengers board heated GPW park busses for a tour of brightly decorated homes throughout Grosse Pointe while listening to the Polar Express story. Arriving at the "North Pole," travelers are treated to hot cocoa and cookies. Good boys and girls get to visit with Santa, and each receives a sleigh bell to represent the first gift of Christmas. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas to recreate the setting for the story. Parents should bring their cameras.

Reservations are $4 per person, children and adults. Departures every night, from Dec. 13 to 20, 5:30, 6, 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m. Get your tickets for a specific day and time at the Community Center. This is a very popular event; don't be left behind!
