Women's Caring Program has blossomed into one of Michigan's premier advocates for early care and education. WCP's traditional annual garden party, the Twilight Gathering, sprouted from a small front porch gathering of women in 1979 with the goal of expanding this circle of friendship.
Over the years, attendees of the Twilight Gatherings and WCP supporters have raised more than $2 million for ChildCare Commitment. ChildCare Commitment offers financial assistance to provide quality early care and education for children ages birth to 5 from working disadvantaged families. Early quality care and education, often out of reach for struggling parents, is essential for young children to build the skills necessary to succeed throughout school and to experience work-life success. To date, the Women's Caring Program has helped more than 1,000 children!
