Lack of Tree Trimming by DTE can lead to Power Outages!

Tree catches fire due to lack of DTE tree trimming

Last year the Grosse Pointe Woods tree trimming manager was at my home to advise me on a tree in front of my home (on the city side). The tree branches were getting too close to my home and I was concerned that the tree could come down in a storm. He allowed certain branches to be trimmed back. I paid for the trimmming myself since I had other trees that needed trimming.

I told him about a tree growing through the power lines at 856 North Brys. He stated that DTE is responsible for trimming those trees. He informed me that DTE was schedules to come through the area in the next few weeks to trim trees near power lines. That was LAST YEAR! No trimming was ever done.

Last week my power went off for about 15 minutes and came back on. When I looked outside ... the tree at 856 North Brys had caught FIRE! The house next to me 699 S Brys said he had called and DTE stated "that tree was on the list to be trimmed". I went online to file a complaint with DTE. I DO NOT want a power outage due to lack of maintenance on DTE's part.
