Family Fun at the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club March 12th-16th

March is upon us and with it comes the 2014 USTA Midwest Mixed Open Doubles Championships. This professional level tennis tournament will take place at the Grosse Pointe Hunt Club, March 12th through the 16th.

We are so excited to announce that we have a tremendous field of tennis talent that is sure to entertain from Day 1 all the way to the finals on Day 5.  Starting on Wednesday evening, drop by the club to watch up and coming stars from each of the Grosse Pointe area high schools, local college players from Wayne State and local legends looking to keep the youngsters in their place.  Admission is FREE Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.  In addition to great tennis entertainment we will also be offering bar service and food service in our upstairs lounge and viewing area.

Saturday, March 15th, begins Main Draw action.  For only $5 you can get the opportunity to watch your local pro’s compete against world ranked players such as Joel Kielbowicz (not only is he world ranked, he resides in Grosse Pointe!), Jacqueline Cako, Diana Ospina and more!  The action on Saturday and Sunday (semi-finals and finals) is sure to be the highest level of tennis you can find at any point throughout the year in southeast Michigan.  Don’t miss this opportunity to sit court side and watch these players compete for their share of the $10,000 prize!

Don’t forget to mark your calendar for what should be the social event of the year for tennis players: our Player Fan Party!  Tickets are required for this party that is set to begin at 730pm on Saturday night.  $25 gets you in to enjoy food, music and bar service and perhaps a little bit of late night action if the main draw moves into the evening hours.
