INTERNATIONAL MILITARY OFFICERS HOLD 55TH ANNUAL DINNER

Military officers from the United States, Canada and other Allied nations will hold their 55th Annual International Armed Forces Night dinner on Friday, May 9 at the Fogolar Furlan Hall, 1800 North Service Road in Windsor.  This long standing dinner honors the friendship that exists between Allied military officers and provides continued opportunities to network and share experiences.

This year’s dinner commemorates the 90th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force.  Lieutenant Colonel Karen McCrimmon, RCAF, a veteran of the Afghanistan war, will be the guest speaker.  The dinner, an annual event since 1960, is open to all active, reserve and retired military officers and their guests, and alternates yearly between Windsor and Detroi

“This year’s colorful event is filled with military traditions, music and pageantry.  The Windsor Regiment Band will perform; a Scottish piper in full regalia will pipe in the color guard; and military dress uniforms of the American and Canadian forces will be present.  A four-course dinner will be enjoyed by all,” said Capt David Beneteau, RCAF, one of the Co-Chairs of this year’s event.

Starting with a reception at 6:30 p.m., the dinner honors those who have served and fallen comrades, from current and past wars.  “Mess Dress” military uniforms or formal attire are preferred, but Class A military uniforms or conservative civilian attire are welcome.
