I just picked up my ballot from the city clerks office. It is a long ballot this year, filled with many different offices, millages and ballot proposals. The Board of Education candidates are located under the non-partisian part of the ballot on the back of the first page. The district continues to face many challenges, financial, the threat of mandated school of choice and the need to close the achievement gap. Your vote is important, not only in the general election, but also in the local elections. Please be sure to turn your ballot over and vote on the local issues, as they will have an impact on the future of our community.
It is my hope as well that the community re-elects me to the Board of Education, as I would like to continue to serve the students and residents of this district. More importantly though, I hope you all exercise your right to vote on November 6th.
