Artists Wanted for GP Fish Campaign

Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce and Services for Older Citizens ask local artists to decorate fiberglass fish as part of fundraising project.

That’s the call from the and the , who are asking for local artists to participate in the GP Fish! Hooked on Grosse Pointe campaign.

The chamber wants artists who are interested in decorating the 50 fiberglass fish, which will be on display in the Grosse Pointes this summer.

Similar to the Grosse Pointe Frog Event in 2005, the fish will be unveiled this summer at the , where they will remain on display during the Detroit Symphony Orchestra summer concert series.

In August and September, the fish will be on display in the business districts of the Grosse Pointes. The event will culminate with an gala auction at the in October.

Artists interested in participating may fill out an application online at gpfish.net or by calling 313-881-4722.

Applications are due by March 15. Fish must be completed and ready for display by June 15.

Proceeds from the campaign will benefit the Services for Older Citizens.
