This Week in Grosse Pointe: April 9

Although this week is spring break for , there are still a few events to highlight:

1. The beautification committee meets Wednesday beginning at 7:30 p.m. According to the agenda, they will discuss the upcoming flower sale, a tile program and the awards program. Woods citizen's recreation committee will meet Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m. The committee will hear a report from the recreation supervisor, according to the agenda.

2. city council has cancelled their meeting scheduled for Monday. They will meet again April 23.

3. has several committee meetings this week, including:

• the Ambassadors Committee will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m.
• the Finance Committee will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m.
• the Board of Review will have a special meeting Thursday at 3 p.m.

Agendas were not available for any of the meetings. The finance committee is likely to continue discussing the .

4. Grosse Pointe Shores Mayor Ted Kedzierski will hold office hours on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Anyone wishing to see him is asked to call 881-6565 to schedule an appointment.

5. The system is celebrating National Library Week from Monday through Saturday. There are some special events planned and a daily "giveaway" at each of the three branches.
