A few things to know about what is happening in the Grosse Pointes this week.

A few things to know for this week in the Grosse Pointes:

1. council meets for the first time this year tonight beginning at 7:30 p.m. in chambers. On the agenda:

  • commission appointments and resignations
  • Community Developement Block Grant
  • Fuel purchase contract

  • Proposed increase in current millage

2. Grosse Pointe Farms council also meets for the first time this year beginning at 7 p.m. tonight. There are several topics of interest. The agenda includes:

  • from engineers at Hubbell, Roth & Clark
  • Discussion about potential pump station upgrades, storm sewer separation
  • the which would allow for all of the Pointes to share certain fire services
  • an Assessment Settlement related to the

4. Where do you go for soup in Grosse Pointe? This week's Food Fight is all about soup. Nominations accepted through 5 p.m. Tuesday. Then the top places will be voted upon to see who is first.

5. The council is having a special session tonight beginning at 6 p.m. No formal decisions will be made by the council but they will discuss the city's strategic plans and goals.
