VillageFest Returns to Grosse Pointe for Sixth Year

The Sept. 8-9 event in the Village in Grosse Pointe offers food, music, cars and more.

The sixth annual celebration in Grosse Pointe is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees throughout its Sept. 8-9 run.

The event, previously called "Grosse Pointe's Greatest Block Party," will be held in the on Kercheval Ave. near Neff and Cadieux and will feature tunes, food and autos.

On both Saturday and Sunday during the day, the fair will feature food from about 16 local eateries, live music, an art fair, and an auto exhibit. The fair on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. will turn into a dance party with R&B performer Dr. Pocket.

Shoppers need not fear, though, as many vendors will bring their wares to the sidewalk. 

Attendees are also encouraged to bring their children as VillageFest will have a host of activities for younger residents, including a bounce house, arts, and crafts, and also a parade of dogs of Sunday.
