Community Corner

business developments in the Village.

There has been much discussion in the last several years regarding the decline in retail occupancy in The Village. Beginning with the closing of Jacobsons, but including more recent closures like Borders, Blockbuster and the Gap, many residents and business owners have asked if we should consider opening the Village up to more types of businesses. Today a letter was sent to Mayor Dale Scrace and the City Council from Jim Bellanca, the manager for Kercheval Company, which owns a significant portion of the commercial real estate in The Village.  There is a public hearing scheduled for City hall on Monday, July 15 at 7 pm

In the interest of keeping you informed about what is happening with our business district, we are sharing this letter with you here:https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9ExXsrBOw0AR3ZkYWhEblRGQkE/edit?usp=sharing
