Arrest Made in CVS Robbery of Elderly Woman

A man who allegedly robbed a St. Clair Shores senior citizen at the CVS on Mack has been arraigned on charges stemming from the incident.

A 32-year-old Harrison Township man has been arraigned on charges stemming from the purse snatching and robbery of a senior citizen in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy on Mack, Grosse Pointe Woods police confirmed.

Theodore Colo has been charged with unarmed robbery, two counts of possession of a financial transaction device and two counts of illegal use of a financial transaction device for allegedly robbing a 93-year-old woman Nov. 26 as she put groceries in the trunk of her car.

According to police, the St. Clair Shores woman had just completed shopping at the CVS Pharmacy located at 20460 Mack Ave. when Colo drove a maroon Ford pickup truck by her, reached out of his vehicle and grabbed her purse.

As he drove away, he dragged the victim to the ground, breaking her hip and injuring her elbow.

Colo was reportedly later captured on two different store security cameras using the victim’s credit cards. He was given a $10,000 bond.

He will be back in court Jan. 29 for a preliminary exam.
