Bob Bashara's Former Attorney David Griem Admits to Improperly Sharing Evidence

Accused of sharing evidence with Bashara's family and for issuing unauthorized subpoenas, attorney David Griem will be sentenced for civil contempt on Nov. 26.

, was in court Friday on charges of criminal contempt of court that stemmed from accusations that Griem had shared privileged information with Bashara's family and had issued unauthorized subpoenas regarding Joe Gentz.

During the hearing before 36th District Court Judge Kenneth King, Griem admitted responsibility for both petitions for contempt and apologized, reported Maria Miller, Wayne County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson.

In an article by the Detroit Free Press, Griem was reported to have said, "Your honor, as someone who has been an attorney for over 35 years and takes his obligations as an attorney serious, I'm particularly embarrassed to be in this situation..."

Judge King accepted the cases as civil contempt and set a sentencing hearing for Nov. 26 at 9 a.m.
