Bob Bashara Scheduled for Pretrial Hearing in Detroit

Bob Bashara of Grosse Pointe is accused in the strangulation death of his wife, Jane, in January 2012.

Murder suspect Bob Bashara is due back in court Wednesday for a pretrial hearing in Detroit.

Bashara is scheduled to appear in the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice via video from the Oaks Correctional Facility before Judge Timothy Kenny, according to spokeswoman Maria Miller of the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Bashara has been arraigned on murder and five other charges related to death of his wife, Jane Bashara. The charges were brought about 15 months after her body was found in the backseat of her SUV in Detroit.

He is currently serving a prison sentence in a related case involving his former handyman, Joe Gentz, whom he tried to have killed while in jail to prevent him from testifying.

The high-profile criminal case was the focus of a Dateline NBC episode last month that, among other things, explored Bashara's alleged secret life in the S&M community and reported affair with a woman who police said gave him a deadline to divorce his wife, according to the report.
