Public Safety Members Honored at 'Blue Mass'

Public safety personnel from the Grosse Pointes, Harper Woods and St. Clair Shores are honored at a special service that also remembers the fallen emergency personnel from 9/11.

Members of law enforcement, firefighters, EMS technicians and other civic personnel from the Grosse Pointes, Harper Woods and St. Clair Shores  gathered Sunday, Sept. 9, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church for a “Blue Mass” honoring their service.  The “Blue Mass” took on special meaning as the community and nation prepared to mark the 11th anniversary of September 11 and the sacrifice of so many police, firefighters and emergency personnel on that tragic day.
