Drug Charges Dropped Against Grosse Pointe Park Man

Drug charges against Myron Tyronne Williams were dismissed after he was arrested in connection with the strangulation death of Sabrina Gianino.

Drug charges have been dropped against a Grosse Pointe Park Man who was arrested as part of of a homicide investigation. 

Myron Tyronne Williams faced charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and delivery of marijuana as a part of a homicide investigation after a 35-year-old woman who lived next door to the home was found dead inside a duplex on Wayburn Street. The charges were dismissed Thursday.

“The prosecution moved to dismiss the case because discovery items that relate to a separate investigation could not be turned over to the defense in the marijuana case,” according to a news release from the prosecutor’s office.

The charges brought against Williams - who prosecutors said has had a number of contacts with police, including a drug offense, obstruction of police officer and unauthorized entry of an building - are part of a larger investigation.

"This case is part of a larger ongoing homicide investigation," Molly Kettler, Wayne County assistant prosecutor, previously said, when Williams was arraigned. "We expect there may well be additional charges, and we don’t want him to A: either harm anyone, or B: leave the jurisdiction."

Sabrina Gianino was found dead May 16 in a Grosse Pointe Park and her death was ruled a homicide by strangulation the next day following an autopsy.
