Fire in Garbage Truck Closes Mack Avenue

Grosse Pointe Woods public safety officers doused burning trash, which was dumped onto Mack Avenue shortly after 11 a.m.

Grosse Pointe Woods public safety officers responded to a fire in a garbage truck Saturday morning. The trash was dumped into the street and doused by firefighters. 

The southbound lanes of Mack Avenue are closed temporarily in front of the . Officials were not immediatley available to release more information such as the cause or how the fire was discovered.
