Grosse Pointe Farms Police Arrest Drunk Drivers, Investigate Egging

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Grosse Pointe Farms police arrested a 31-year-old Detroit woman for drunk driving April 6. Another motorist called 911 to report the woman as a possible drunk driver. When responding officers found her near Kercheval Avenue at Kerby Road, she was weaving in and out of her lane of traffic and she was driving five miles per hour over the speed limit. When an officer approached, the woman had a hard time finding her paperwork and she smelled of alcohol. She had a 0.16 percent blood alcohol content and failed field sobriety tests, according to a report.

The same day, Grosse Pointe Farms officers arrested a 26-year-old Grosse Pointe Woods woman for drunk driving about 2 a.m. The woman drove through a blinking red light at Mack and Moran, prompting a traffic stop. The woman smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and glassy eyes. She failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer, prompting officers to obtain a warrant from the judge and get a blood sample from a local hospital, according to a report.

Traffic stop ends in felony warrant arrest

Grosse Pointe Farms police arrested a 59-year-old St. Clair Shores man April 4 on a felony warrant. The arrest happened on Lake Shore Road and Sunset Lane. The man was stopped for having a defective brake light, which is when the felony warrant for dangerous drugs was discovered. The warrant is from Mt. Clemens, according to a report.

Homeowners Reports Second Egging

Grosse Pointe Farms police are investigating the egging of a home and car in the 300 block of Belanger Road. The homeowner called police April 3 after the egging was discovered on the exterior of the house and a car parked in the driveway. This is the second time the house has been egged. The same resident filed a report March 9, according to a report.
