Grosse Pointe Farms Police Look for Handyman

Grosse Pointe Farms detectives are looking for a man hired to wash the windows of a home on Barclay that was later burglarized. Anyone who spots the man is asked to call police at 313-885-2100.

Following a burglary earlier this week on Barclay, the Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Pubilc Safety has issued a community alert asking the public to help them find a handyman they believe is responsible.
The victims and several of their neighbors reported hiring a solicitor to wash their windows a few days before the burglary. No one in the area had noticed anything suspicious or out of place.
In the burglary, the door was unlocked and a computer and a bicycle were taken. It appeared as if nothing else in the house had been disturbed, according to observations by the responding officer and the residents.
Farms police issued a community alert Friday night asking the public to help find Darrell, a man who has been known to solicit residents to wash windows. He is approximately 45 years old, about 5-foot-7 and weighs about 155 pounds, according to police. He's also usually carrying a bucket.
Anyone who sees Darrell is asked to call police 313-885-2100.
