Grosse Pointe Farms Seeks to Reunite Garden Statues With Owners

The following information is gathered from the Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

School wasn't in session Saturday, but nearly a dozen garden statues were found lined up at the front door of Grosse Pointe South as if they were waiting to enter and go to their lockers.

The Grosse Pointe Farms police were notified Saturday morning by a resident taking his dog for a walk. According to the city's Nixle alert, the 11 statues "were placed neatly underneath the front columns of the high school."

Investigators believe the statues, including a rabbit, dog and gargoyle, were taken from homes in the Grosse Pointe area.
