City of Grosse Pointe police have canceled an alert concerning a home invasion suspect, according to a statement issued on Nixle.
Grosse Pointe Sgt. Michael Seidel said the man fled from two officers and is no longer in the area.
Seidel added that it was unclear if a home invasion actually took place.
According to an earlier Nixle report, police had said a home invasion suspect was on the loose in the area of Neff and Lakeland between Charlevoix and Mack on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the incident occurred on University and that the suspect—described as a 6-foot, 3-inch black male wearing dark clothing and possibly a light-colored shirt—was believed to be hiding in the area.
Any suspicious behavior should be reported to City of Grosse Pointe Department of Public Safety at 313-886-3200.

Stop and Frisk, please.
We always advise our out of town guests to use the Moross exit.
There were two fine upstanding fellows in hoodies with a revolver that just robbed a jogger at Moran and Charlevoix at 2:00 this afternoon. Broad daylight in the heart of the neighborhood. Now what were you saying about fear forcing us to make idiotic decisions? I say we deal a little fear rather than live in it. Our Detroit neighbors seem to care very little about the GP departments these days.
