Second Competency Hearing Begins for Joe Gentz

Joe Gentz will appear in 36th District Court in a few minutes for his second competency hearing in the January strangulation death of Jane Bashara.

The will appear before Judge Kenneth J. King on Wednesday.

Joe Gentz has been in custody since early March when he was arrested and charged in Bashara's violent death. He had worked as a handyman for Bashara's husband, Bob Bashara, on rental properties he owns throughout the metro area.

. The results of the second, private evaluation will be revealed during this hearing in 36th District Court.

Meanwhile, for trying to hire a hitman to kill Gentz while being housed at Dickerson lockup. .

The charge is similar to what Gentz alleges happened with —he was hired to kill her by Bob Bashara for cash. Despite being identified as a "person of interest" in his wife's death , he has not been charged in that case as of Wednesday afternoon.
