Murder Suspect Warned, Scammer Poses as Police and More Crime Nearby

Here's a look at crimes that made headlines in town and around neighboring communities over the past week.

Chesterfield Township 

A 33-year-old Chesterfield Township man, who taught at Fraser Public Schools, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for producing child porn.

Dearborn 

The 34-year-old man accused of killing two people who worked at a Dearborn Family Dollar store waived his right to a preliminary exam Wednesday in Detroit for failing to report on the sex offender registry. 

Grosse Pointe 

A man charged with murdering a 47-year-old woman in Clinton Township had been warned by Grosse Pointe Farms police to leave her and her child alone in the past.

Macomb County 

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham is advising the public that his office does not conduct financial transactions by phone after an Eastpointe woman was defrauded by someone posing as the law enforcement official. 

St. Clair Shores 

Two of three men police believe were involved in an unarmed robbery of the T-Mobile store on 9 Mile were bound over Friday to stand trial in Macomb County Circuit Court.

Trenton 

An assistant principal at Trenton Public Schools, who was charged with embezzlement, waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday.
