Police Blotter: 2 Arrested for Selling Drugs

police arrested a man and a woman for trying to sell marijuana at the March 24. Employees called police saying the pair, ages 31 and 19, were harassing customers and possibly shoplifting from the store. Responding officers found the woman in the lot and the man exiting the store. They searched him for store merchandise and found marijuana separated into small bags. Each had four separate bags on them. Both were arrested and charged with selling marijuana, according to a report.

Officers Talk to Girl, 7, After False 911 Calls

Grosse Pointe Farms police visited the home of a 7-year-old girl who had been repeatedly calling 911 for about a week. The officers told the girl's father about her false calls to 911 and talked to her about only using that phone number for emergencies. The father took the girl's phone away from her when police were there, according to a report.

Tequila Theft Ends in Scuffle

Grosse Pointe Farms police are investigating the attempted theft of a bottle of tequila from March 24. Employees called police after a man was seen putting the bottle of alcohol inside a black hooded sweatshirt he was wearing and when he was confronted by an employee, he fought. The would-be thief got away from the employee, who regained control over the tequila bottle and ended up with the would-be thief's sweatshirt and backpack. The man took both items off during his struggle with the employee. A video surveillance was turned over to investigators, according to a report.

City-owned Weed Whip Stolen

police are investigating the theft of a weed whip from a Department of Public Works truck. An employee reported it stolen March 26 after he parked near Mack Avenue and Ridgemont, walked around the corner and when he returned, discovered it was missing. The lawn tool is valued at $275, according to a report.

Illegal U-Turn Results in Drunk Driving Arrest

Grosse Pointe Farms police arrested a 51-year-old Detroit woman for drunk driving after she was stopped for making an illegal u-turn on Moross Road. The woman struggled to find the paperwork and her driver's license, ultimately giving the officer an envelope filled with paperwork and telling him it was in there. She also had heavily slurred speech. She failed field sobriety tests and had a 0.15 percent blood alcohol content. She was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, according to a report.

Wanted Felon Arrested During Traffic Stop

Grosse Pointe Farms police arrested a 54-year-old Detroit man March 26 after discovering he had a felony warrant for his arrest. He was initially pulled over because he drove through a red light on Mack Avenue at Kerby Road. When an officer performed a check on the driver, he discovered a felony warrant for unemployment fraud, according to a report.

Caller Threatens Farms Resident

A 66-year-old Grosse Pointe Farms resident reported to police that he received a threatening phone call on his cell March 26. The resident told police the man who called requested money and threatened him, his wife and his children, according to a report.
