Police Blotter: Arrestee Gives False Name

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Grosse Pointe Farms Judge Matthew Rumora dismissed a driving while suspended case March 6 after the person charged showed up to court to report he had never been arrested by officers here. The judge requested an officer look into the case, where it was discovered the photo of the person booked did not match the person who appeared in court and did not have the same tattoos as noted during the arrest. The man identified the person in the booking photo as his 29-year-old brother, who will now also face a false reporting charge in the Farms for providing a false identification to officers, according to a report.
