Police Blotter: Arrests, Pursuit and Property Damage

Grosse Pointe police are investigating a variety of crimes.

Grosse Pointe Shores and Park police searched a Shores home Monday for a gun believed to be used during a Park robbery. Despite the search, a weapon was not found in the home. The Shores resident contacted Shores police to alert them that he was searching for a weapon Park police told him may have been used in a robbery, according to Shores Police reports. Patch is seeking additional information in regards to the search and information about the specific robbery being investigated.

Pursuit enters GP, leads to arrests

Three men who led St. Clair Shores Police on a pursuit late Friday into Grosse Pointe Shores were arrested shortly after abandoning their vehicle. Grosse Pointe Shores officers put stop sticks out on Lake Shore Road at Roslyn Road after receiving warning that the pursuit was heading in their direction. The driver turned onto Crestwood Drive and ran from the vehicle. The men hid in the bushes of a home in the 800 block of Lake Shore Road and were arrested at gunpoint by Grosse Pointe Shores officers. The men were turned over to St. Clair Shores police, according to reports.

Property damage reported

A Stillmeadow Lane resident in Grosse Pointe Shores woke Sunday to find extensive damage to his lawn, car, garage and portable basketball hoop. The resident called police, explaining he doesn't know anyone that would have done it. According to a police report, a vehicle appeared to have circled in the front lawn at least three times tearing it up, hit a parked car and pushed it into the closed garage door and hit and knocked down a portable basketball hoop, pushing it several feet.

Probation violators arrested

Grosse Pointe Park police arrested two Detroit men Friday and Saturday in unrelated situations. Both had probation violation warrants out of other jurisdictions. Both men, one 42 years old and the other 21, were stopped for traffic violations and then the probation violations were discovered, according to reports. 

Beer drinker stopped

A 43-year-old Detroit man spotted drinking a beer while exiting a public transportation bus at Bedford Road and Mack Avenue was stopped by police. After checking his information in the police systems, officers arrested the man on outstanding warrants from Detroit and turned him over to Detroit police, according to reports.
