Police Blotter: Bicycles, GPS, Power Tools Stolen in Grosse Pointe Park

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating a several thefts, according to reports.

  • A GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked Cadillac Escalade parked in the 1200 block of Audubon overnight from June 9 to 10. 
  • A boxwood shrub was stolen from the front yard of a home in the 1200 block of Balfour overnight from June 11 to 12. 
  • A power washer and trimmer were stolen from a locked garage in the 1300 block of Wayburn June 16 between 3 to 4 p.m.

3 Bicycle Thefts Under Investigation

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating the theft of two bicycles and made an arrest in a third.

  • A mountain bike was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 1200 block of Maryland June 14 between 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
  • A mountain bike chained to a fence in the 1000 block of Lakepointe June 13 to 14 was stolen. 

In the third case, a Schwinn bicycle was stolen from the front of a business near Kercheval and Maryland June 14 shortly after 8 p.m. The thief was chased by a witness and arrested by police. A juvenile petition on the 15-year-old Detroit boy was sent to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Officers, according to a report.
