Police Blotter: Burglar Steals $100 from Business

The following information is gathered from the Public Safety Departments of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

police are investigating the burglary of a business in the 15000 block of Kercheval Avenue in which $100 cash was stolen. The burglar entered the business through a window on the side of the building between 5:30 p.m. April 26 to 9 a.m. April 27, according to a report. Patch is awaiting an update on this case from detectives.

Pursuit Ends in Crash, Arrest

Grosse Pointe Park police arrested a 21-year-old Detroit resident April 24 after failing to stop for speeding near Mack Avenue and Nottingham. The driver was spotted speeding and an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued driving into Detroit before losing control of the car and crashing near Barham and Warren. The resident was charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement, according to a report.

Attempted Burglary Reported

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating the attempted burglary of a garage in the 800 block of Barrington. The locking hinge on the garage was bent by the would-be burglar in an attempt to get inside. The would-be burglar was not success and did not get inside. The resident reported the attempted crime happened between 6 to 8:15 a.m. April 25, according to a report.

Screen Door Reported Stolen

A resident in the 1300 block of Lakepointe reported a small screen door stolen April 24. The door went missing between 8:30 to 11:55 p.m., according to a report.
