Police Blotter: Caretaker Identified as Suspect in Theft

police are investigating the theft of $800 cash and a bicycle from a home in the 800 block of Barrington after both were discovered missing. The thefts are believed to have happened between June 30 to July 1. A new caretaker was hired to help at the home but since the cash and bike were discovered stolen, he has not returned for work, according to a report.

  • In the first, an unlocked bicycle was stolen from the backyard of a home in the 1300 block of Beaconsfield June 25 between 12:30 to 2 p.m., according to a report.
  • In another, two backpack-style leaf blowers used by landscapers were stolen from a truck parked in the street near Harvard and Jefferson June 30 between 9:45 to 10 a.m., according to a report.
