Police Blotter: Fugitive Found in Attic, Arrested

The following information is gathered by the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Grosse Pointe Park police helped the U.S. Marshals Service and Detroit Police in arresting a 30-year-old man Feb. 26. The man was found hiding in the attic of a home in the 1300 block of Beaconsfield about 3 p.m. Joshua Mceachern had a warrant for aggravated assault, according to a report. Mceachern is familiar to Grosse Pointe Park police and sometimes stays at the home, Park Capt. David Loch said. The original warrant was from Detroit, he said.

ACTION Team Recovers Stolen SUV, Makes Arrest

The ACTION Team, which focuses on preventing and recovering stolen vehicles, arrested a 19-year-old man Feb. 26 about 1:20 p.m. for fleeing police and possession of a stolen car. Officers were investigating a recently stolen vehicle from Eastpointe—a 2004 Dodge Durango—near Jefferson and Marlborough when the driver jumped from the SUV in the 700 block of Manistique. Officers chased the man and arrested him a short time later. He was charged with fleeing and eluding police, receiving and concealing stolen property and possession of a stolen automobile, according to a report.

Peeping Man Arrested for Trespassing

Grosse Pointe Park police arrested a 47-year-old man Feb. 3 for trespassing after he was found peering into the windows of a home in the 1200 block of Lakepointe. The homeowner spotted the man standing on her property and looking into her windows. When she began heading toward the man, he walked away. Officers found him close by and arrested him for trespassing, according to a report.
