Police Blotter: Motorcycle Crash, Drug Paraphernalia

The following information was gathered from the Grosse Pointe Departments of Public Safety. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

A 48-year-old Northville man was driving south on Lake Shore in Grosse Pointe Shores on May 21 when he lost control of his motorcycle near the Fairlake and struck the curb. The motorcycle sustained minor damage. The driver, who had purchased the motorcycle earlier in the day and was transported to St. John Hospital, according to a police report.

Parking meter shaker
Grosse Pointe Farms police issued a possession of drug paraphernalia ticket to a 49-year-old Detroit man May 27 after he was stopped for tampering with a parking meter near McKinley and Mack. The man was first spotted shaking parking meters in front of the post office on Mack Avenue. The man was then seen going through the garbage can collecting cans. When an officer approached and searched the man, they found he had a crackpipe on him, according to a report.
