Police Blotter: Pursuit Ends in Felony Arrest
The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.
Grosse Pointe Park police arrested a 23-year-old Detroit man after he refused to stop for a traffic offense and led officers on a pursuit into Detroit. The man was spotted driving at a high rate of speed on Mack Avenue Feb. 23 shortly before 9 a.m. The man refused to stop, led officers on a pursuit to I-94 and Mount Elliott, where he ran from the car. The officers caught him a short time later. He is being charged with felony fleeing and eluding, according to a report.
Bibles, Wheels Stolen
Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating two different thefts.

In the first case, nine Bibles were stolen from a UPS package on the front porch of a home in the 1100 block of Beaconsfield Feb. 22. The theft happened in a 20 minute period between 5:30 to 5:55 p.m., according to a report.
In the second case, the wheels of a 2013 Ford Focus parked in the driveway of a home in the 700 block of Barrington. The owner found the car sitting on concrete blocks early Feb. 18. The crime is believed to have happened between 12:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. the same day, according to a report.
