Police Blotter: Thefts, Burglary And Drunken Driving

Park police officers are investigating several thefts, including one in which bags of shrimp and chicken were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Grosse Pointe Park officers are investigating several thefts. On Friday, bags of shrimp and chicken were stolen from an unlocked van in the 1300 block of Maryland Street. A flat-screen television was stolen from an upstairs apartment in the 1400 block of Beaconsfield Avenue Jan. 9. Police did not find any signs of forced entry. In the another case, a car stereo was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1200 block of Wayburn Street Jan. 10. 

Arson in street ends in arrests

Two 19-year-old men were arrested early Friday after police said they stole a gas can from a pickup truck in the 1000 block of Devonshire Road, poured it in the street and lit it on fire. No one was injured nor was any property damaged, according to reports.

Jewelry box, gaming units stolen 

Grosse Pointe Woods police are investigating a burglary in the 1800 block of Roslyn Road. A resident called police Friday morning to report the crime, which happened between Jan. 11 and 14. Two gaming stations and a jewelry box were stolen from the home. A third gaming station was removed from its location in the home, but left behind. Police searched a nearby home but did not find any of the stolen merchandise, according to reports.

Three teens stopped, one arrested

Woods police officers responding to a burglar alarm for a house in the 1400 block of Fairholme Road found a vehicle driving without lights on Friday night. They stopped the vehicle near Mack Avenue and Huntington Boulevard. Police said when the officer approached the vehicle it smelled of marijuana. Three Grosse Pointe teenagers inside the car admitted to having the drug and were questioned, police said. One was arrested for having marijuana and related paraphernalia. He was taken to the police station and then released to a relative. 

Stolen vehicle recovered, man arrested

St. Clair Shores police arrested a man Saturday in a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was stolen from the 1400 block of Balfour Street, according to Park police reports. 

Drunken driving arrest made

Woods police officers arrested a 26-year-old St. Clair Shores woman early Friday near the city's border at I-94 and Harper Woods-St. Clair Shores. Police said she had a 0.17 percent blood-alcohol content, which is more than double the legal limit.
