Police Blotter: Thefts Under Investigation in Grosse Pointe Park

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating several thefts. 

  • A power washer and a plastic gas can were stolen from a truck parked in the driveway in the 900 block of Barrington between May 28 to 29.
  • About $20 in coins were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 1300 Wayburn between May 28 to 29. 
  • A patio umbrella was stolen from a backyard in 1400 block of Wayburn between May 30 to 31. 
  • A city garbage can was taken from a backyard in the 1300 block of Lakepointe between May 30 to 31, according to reports.
Cash Stolen
Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating the theft of $271 from the purse of a resident in the 1300 block of Maryland May 31. The cash was stolen after the resident fell asleep. A friend had been at the home when she fell asleep and when she awoke the cash was gone from her purse, according to a report.
