Police Blotter: Pursuit, Vehicle Thefts in Grosse Pointe Park

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Pursuit Ends in Arrest
Grosse Pointe Park police arrested a 36-year-old St. Clair Shores man May 24 after he led officers on a pursuit through Detroit. Officers had originally stopped him for a traffic offense near Charlevoix and Maryland but the man refused to stop and sped up. The pursuit weaved through several Detroit streets and ended when the man stopped his vehicle. He was charged with third degree fleeing and eluding police, according to a report. 

Vehicle Thefts Under Investigation
Grosse Pointe Park police are investigating the theft of a 2008 Toyota Corolla from a driveway in the 1400 block of Maryland. The car was stolen during the night of May 22. It was red with a Michigan license plate of CEH1001, according to a report. 

Similarly, they are investigating the theft of a 1990 Chevrolet truck stolen between May 14 to 15 from a driveway in the 1400 block of Wayburn. Officers found a small amount of glass at the scene. The truck was orange with a Michigan license plate of CLV4900, according to a report.
