Grilling Lambchops Ends in Grease Fire

Grosse Pointe Shores Public Safety officers were called to a home in the 60 block of Hawthorne for a small indoor grill fire May 11. The responding officers found the resident had been cooking lambchops on the indoor grill when a grease fire ignited. The woman extinguished it but asked officers to check the cooktop to make sure it hadn't spread. They removed lava rocks and found the fire had not spread. They advised the resident to have it cleaned along with the ventilation hood before she uses it again. There was little damage as a result of the fire, according to a report.
